Mass General for Children

MGfC pediatric services are dispersed across 11 buildings around the Mass General campus, which can create navigational and operational challenges for patients, their families and physicians and staff. We seek to bring together and upgrade MGfC inpatient and outpatient services to enable better access to our world-class care.

Endowed positions provide funding to support clinical, research and teaching activities in perpetuity. We aim to establish five endowed Mass General Chairs or Mass General Scholars to help ensure the continued recruitment and retention of the most talented faculty.

Mass General excels in connecting clinical care with research, which makes it the ideal place to bring new discoveries and treatments from the lab bench to the bedside. We seek to introduce Junior Investigator Awards to fund promising researchers, establish a Research Innovation and Discovery Endowment Fund to focus on transformative pediatric research and create a Pediatric Biobank Endowment to generate future opportunities for research and discovery.

Child life specialists, social workers and other staff are key to MGfC’s team-based care model. They work tirelessly to support parents who are coming to terms with a child’s diagnosis, young children preparing for a procedure and adolescents navigating transitions from childhood to adulthood. However, their services aren’t always covered by insurance. Establishing an endowed fund would give MGfC reliable funding for these essential services.
