Over the last several years, donors have fueled breakthroughs in CAR T-cell therapy, offering new promise to patients diagnosed with glioblastoma — the most common brain tumor and a fast-growing cancer that is universally fatal despite previously available treatments. Community fundraisers, such as Mike Slonina and A Shot for Life, have been instrumental to the progress of this novel treatment, instilling hope in patients like Tom Fraser and his wife, Debbie, and inspiring researchers and caregivers to zero in on their efforts.
