As part of Mass General Brigham’s (MGB) effort to integrate care and services across academic medical centers, E. Antonio “Nino” Chiocca, MD, PhD, was recently appointed executive director of the new Center for Tumors of the Nervous System and co-chair of the Executive Committee for MGB Cancer.

‌E. Antonio “Nino” Chiocca, MD, PhD, accepted the role of executive director of the Center for Tumors of the Nervous System and co-chair of the Executive Committee for Mass General Brigham (MGB) Cancer. As executive director, Dr. Chiocca will build and establish the Center for Tumors of the Nervous System — bringing together neurosurgeons who focus on tumors of the central and peripheral nervous system with neuro-oncologists and with support from radiation oncologists — to create a world-leading center within MGB Cancer and drive innovative breakthroughs and treatments for patients. Dr. Chiocca, a nationally renowned neurosurgeon, has led the Brigham and Women’s Hospital Department of Neurosurgery for the past 12 years. He is a highly esteemed scientist and prolific researcher whose academic work has focused on the development of novel treatments for brain tumors.
