Is it possible to predict someone’s risk of getting type 2 diabetes a dozen years before symptoms appear? Massachusetts General Hospital researcher Robert E. Gerszten, MD, recently told Fox 25 TV Boston about a groundbreaking study he and his colleagues have completed into some biomarkers that may do just that.

Dr. Gerszten, an MGH Research Scholar, is principal investigator at Mass General’s Center for Immunology and Inflammatory Diseases and director of clinical and translational research at the Massachusetts General Hospital Corrigan Minehan Heart Center.
