U.S. News and World Report has named Mass General the #1 hospital in its national survey. MGH President Peter L. Slavin, MD, says being the best for patients and families is the hospital's goal.

It is with great pride – and even greater gratitude – that we announce that Massachusetts General Hospital has been named the #1 hospital on this year’s U.S. News & World Report Honor Roll. The news is being released at this very moment. We extend our warmest congratulations to each and every member of the hospital family! usn-best-hospitals-honor-roll-badge

Topping the list of what is perhaps the most well-established and widely recognized hospital report card is a tribute to the collective expertise and dedication of many, many people.  They are physicians, nurses, therapists, technologists, social workers, scientists, managers, supervisors, support staff, administrative staff, students, volunteers and others who, each day and night, give their all to the patients and families who count on us.

Donors as Partners

This honor also belongs to you, our donors.  You are our partners in transforming medicine. Every day, our clinicians and scientists do all they can to advance the medicine they’re delivering to the medicine that could be. Because of your strong support, we are making progress toward closing that gap.

As always, our goal is not to win accolades but to be the best we can be for the patients and families we serve. Our job is to improve the way we diagnose and treat disease, prevent illness and injury, ensure access to care and enhance healthcare delivery in Boston, across the nation and around the world. True success means keeping people healthy and safe – and, in fact, keeping them out of our #1 hospital.
