Although still in the early phases of his career, Wolfram Goessling, MD, PhD, a physician at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, already has a reputation as a talented and genuine oncologist. His accessibility, compassion and knowledge make him a favorite of everyone he treats and comes into contact with. Jennifer Elliott, whose mother was treated by Dr. Goessling prior to her passing from metastatic pancreatic cancer, says, “Wolfram is like no other physician I have ever met. His patients adore him, with good reason. The contributions he has made in his cancer fighting research are unparalleled.”
Recently, Dr. Goessling was diagnosed with an aggressive malignancy and has experienced for himself what it is like to be a cancer patient. But this hasn’t stopped him from advancing his innovative research and continuing his remarkable patient care — he’s just fighting cancer on one more front.
Jennifer shares, “He became my hero when I first met him and saw what a positive impact a supportive provider can have on their patients. He was my hero when he helped me care for my mother during her last months on this earth. And he remains my hero, fighting his own battle against cancer, while remaining on the frontline of research, looking for answers.”
