In many ways, Brad’s own illness reflected the three key unmet needs in the field of prostate cancer diagnosis and treatment: better diagnosis, controlling bone metastasis, and alleviating treatment side effects. Thanks to his engineering mind, his curiosity about advancements in prostate cancer, and the Ingalls’ generous gift, we have been able to make progress in all those areas. Brad challenged and inspired his physicians to do more — even when he knew he had no chance of survival. He wanted to help other men. His widow Joan (pictured here with Brad) continues to build on his wishes.
