Sandra (Sandy) Creamer, RN, OCN, NP, PhD, has devoted her 40-year nursing career to patient care. Her passion to continuously learn and grow has made her a revered mentor as well as a beloved caregiver.
Many of her colleagues believe that Sandy has personally elevated the quality of care for patients with cancer in Lowell and surrounding towns. Spreading best practices by example as well as through mentoring, Sandy inspires her colleagues and staff to make local care synonymous with the best of care.
Sandy began her career in the oncology clinic at then St. John’s Hospital in Lowell, Mass. Years later, she helped to establish the Saints Memorial Cancer Center (now part of Lowell General Hospital) and led such compassionate initiatives as its annual clinic for children and young adults impacted by the nuclear disaster in Chernobyl. Moved to assist a patient with advanced cancer who lacked the money to visit her family in South America, Sandy created a fund to help her and others with similar needs and spearheaded its fundraising event, the Annual Fall Festival for Life.
Sandy has been a role model as a skilled oncology nurse practitioner and a devoted patient advocate to her team and colleagues by providing care, comfort and excellent treatment throughout each phase of her patients’ journies.
