Update November 2023 | Jay Boyle hosted his fourth and final golf tournament this year. His combined efforts have raised more than $300K for prostate cancer research at Mass General! He is pictured here (far right) next to his brother, Brian, presenting the proceeds to L-R, Kara M Olivier, NP, and Matthew Smith, MD, PhD, of the genitourinary oncology program.

Over the past seven years, Jay Boyle has received treatment for prostate cancer at Massachusetts General Hospital. Each month, he drives to Mass General from Rockport, Massachusetts, for tests and to meet with his oncologist, Matthew Smith, MD, PhD, director of the Genitourinary Oncology Program.

Last year, Jay, who is president of Salem Five Bank’s insurance division, decided to host a golf tournament to raise awareness of prostate cancer and funds for research at Mass General. His efforts raised a remarkable $70,000. And while COVID-19 prevented a second event this year, Jay’s networking and outreach still raised $30,000, bringing his total support for the hospital to $100,000.

Jay firmly believes that prostate cancer warrants more attention and support and is leading the charge in changing that landscape. You can join Jay in his mission to make make prostate cancer “contagious” when it comes to increasing awareness and funding for research.
