“Dr. Krag is the most compassionate doctor I have ever known,” writes Gloria Jemery. “From the moment we first met with her at the Mass General-North Shore Cancer Center, my family and I were treated with such kindness, we let go of our fear. Her gentleness and concern helped us during hard times. When my aunt passed away, she sent me a handwritten note of sympathy. Dr. Krag was truly affected by her passing.”
Karen Krag, MD, has been Susan Patoski’s oncologist through two bouts of breast cancer. “How lucky I was to have had my first cancer caught very early by an excellent radiologist looking at a routine mammogram,” Susan writes. “Dr. Krag treated me with respect, compassion and understanding.”
Later, confronted with a recurring diagnosis at a time when Dr. Krag was unavailable, Susan turned to another cancer facility, which did not recommend chemotherapy. “I saw Dr. Krag soon after,” says Susan. “Dr. Krag’s uncanny ability to understand her patients and her field led her to conclude that I could tolerate chemotherapy. She put me into a promising trial and responded to my every question and concern. Three years later, I believe Dr. Krag saved my life. She continues to be a beacon of light and hope.”
