Amy Colwell, MD, FACS, specializes in plastic surgery of the breast, body and face. As quality director of the Division of Plastic Surgery at Mass General, she makes major contributions to patients with breast cancer by striving to improve their care through our breast reconstruction program.
Dr. Colwell has introduced and refined techniques that tremendously improve the cosmetic results of breast reconstruction following surgical treatment of breast cancer. Her innovations have enabled hundreds of patients to benefit from comprehensive treatment of their cancer, including surgery, and when treatment is over, resume their lives with excellent cosmetic results.
A nationally renowned leader in breast cancer reconstruction, Dr. Colwell has given talks to physicians and patients locally, nationally and internationally. She has published extensively in the field. At the Mass General Cancer Center, she is a crucial member of the breast cancer team.
