Mass General Celebrates Its Fundraising Community

The evening featured a cocktail reception, hors d’oeuvres, networking and a speaking program by community fundraiser Joy Greene and her care provider, Jeremy Goverman, MD.

On June 8, 2017, Massachusetts General Hospital thanked its dedicated group of fundraisers at A Toast to Our Fundraising Community.

The evening kicked off with a cocktail reception, hors d’oeuvres and networking, followed by a short speaking program featuring community fundraiser Joy Greene and her care provider, Jeremy Goverman, MD. Ms. Greene has raised $49,000 in two years to support the Division of Burns at Mass General.

“I wanted to give back to the hospital that saved my life,” Ms. Greene said. “I wanted to work with Dr. Goverman and help with the research to bring the best care for all patients.”

Britain W. Nicholson, MD, senior vice president for Development at Mass General, welcomed attendees and introduced Ms. Greene and Dr. Goverman.

“You, my friends, are giving hope to burn patients and finding cures for challenging diseases like cancer, Alzheimer’s and diabetes and so many others, and for that, we thank you,” Dr. Nicholson said.
