Storybook Ball

Hopping Into The Storybook Ball

On Saturday, October 14, 2023, Mass General for Children (MGfC) will celebrate its 24th annual Storybook Ball at the new Omni Boston Hotel at the Seaport. Throughout the history of this event, donor generosity has helped raise more than $35 million. This year’s ball promises to be memorable, as we highlight the incredible work MGfC physicians and researchers are doing in the field of Adolescent Health.

Mass General strongly recommends all eligible individuals receive the COVID-19 vaccine and booster. We are closely monitoring local public health indicators and will make event-related decisions with your safety as our top priority.

Storybook Ball Over The Years

The generosity of Storybook Ball supporters has helped raise more than $35 million to establish new programs and facilities such as the Coordinated Care Clinic and the state-of-the-art Francis H. Burr Proton Beam Therapy Center, enhancing our ability to serve children with complex physical and emotional needs. However, like most health care organizations across the country and within Boston, Mass General is not immune to external challenges. In the face of ongoing economic adversity, Mass General for Children is renewing our commitment to the wide range of existing pediatric programs for which this hospital is renowned.

2022: Chicka Chicka Boom Boom

In 2022, the Storybook Ball returned for its first in-person event in two years. The evening showcased the incredible work being done in Newborn Medicine. The team’s state-of-the-art medical and surgical care, in collaboration with obstetrics, helps mothers and babies before, during and after childbirth to heal, grow and thrive.

2021: The Story of Ferdinand

In 2021, the 22nd Storybook Ball was once again celebrated virtually. The event focused on the complex specialty of Pediatric Infectious Disease. Funds raised helped to ensure that patients and their families can continue to receive the multi-faceted and interdisciplinary care only possible at institutions like MGfC.

2020: Rainbow Fish

In 2020, the Storybook Ball was virtual for the first time in the event’s 21-year history. The virtual gala highlighted MGfC’s response to COVID-19, as clinicians and staff stepped in to provide care for adult and pediatric patients admitted to Mass General with the virus.
