David F. M. Brown, MD
President, Academic Medical Centers, Mass General Brigham
An accomplished clinician, scholar, teacher, mentor and administrator, Dr. Brown is the author of more than 250 peer-reviewed articles, reviews and chapters, has written two popular textbooks related to cardiovascular emergencies, and served as the inaugural editor-in-chief of the textbook Scientific American: Emergency Medicine. He has been recognized by trainees and peers with multiple local, national, and international teaching and mentorship awards.
Dr. Brown previously served as chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital from 2013 to 2021 and as interim president and chief executive officer of Cooley Dickinson Health Care in 2021. He served as president of Massachusetts General Hospital from 2021 to 2024.

Kathryn Rexrode, MD, MPH

As Chief Academic Officer she supports and advances the research and educational missions of the hospital.
Dr. Rexrode has broad and deep research experience in women’s health and is the author of more than 300 research publications. She has a wide research portfolio funded by the National Institutes of Health with a focus on the impact of metabolism and female-specific risk factors on the risk of heart disease and stroke in women. She has received multiple scientific and mentorship awards and currently leads two training programs for early career researchers in women’s health (BIRCWH K12 and Career Enhancement Core for the ROSA Center Specialized Center of Research in Women’s Health). She has been named one of America’s top 500 female scientists for several years.
Dr. Rexrode is also the Director of the Gretchen and Edward Fish Center for Women’s Health which provides comprehensive women’s health services, including 14 specialties and a dedicated clinic for menopause and midlife care. Building on its core mission of leading the field in state-of-the-art care for women, the Division of Women’s Health conducts translational women’s health research and leads innovative education programs for medical students, residents, and faculty to advance the health of women.
