Donate to the Worden Family Ovarian Cancer Fund

It is our hope that we will raise an initial grant of $500,000 for the Ovarian Cancer Treatment Program at Mass General so that their brilliant physician-scientists have the seed funding for two critical projects that we have identified as priorities: one in CAR T cell therapy and one in accelerated drug discovery for ovarian cancer.

Supporting Ovarian Cancer Research at the Mass General Cancer Center

The Mass General Cancer Center is determined to fundamentally shift how cancer is prevented, diagnosed, and treated. The Cancer Center’s vision: to diagnose cancers at their earliest stage, when they can be more successfully treated and even cured; to further develop more powerful therapies to give patients more options no matter the stage of their cancer; to decrease the burden of cancer on families and society; and to save more lives. This is a mission close to our hearts. Anita has been in treatment for ovarian cancer since 2019. We are dedicated to funding translational research that will have a direct and immediate impact in order to help patients live long, cancer-free lives. Nearly 300,000 women are newly diagnosed with ovarian cancer every year worldwide. While other cancer diagnoses have witnessed major progress with the emergence of immunotherapy, ovarian cancer patients are still waiting to see the same advances. We are asking our friends, family, and community to join us in moving the science forward and working towards eliminating ovarian cancer.

These project would be led by Dr. Yeku and Dr. Bouberhan. Dr. Yeku and Dr. Bouberhan represent the future of research in ovarian cancer and we are honored to partner with them.

For those of us that wish to invest our time and energy to improving the lives of ovarian cancer patients and their families, there really is nowhere like the Mass General Cancer Center. We’re eager to support these efforts to move the needle and there are very few other institutions with the same dedication to and expertise in bringing research from the lab to the clinic.

How will my tax-deductible gift to the Worden Family Ovarian Cancer Fund be used? In addition to the two identified research priorities, it is our hope that we will be a source of funding for the program to fund:

  1. Basic scientific research at the lab level.
  2. Translational research, i.e. translating lab level findings to pre-clinical trials in patients.
  3. Clinical trials.
