These men have demonstrated the tremendous power of translational research and multidisciplinary collaboration. It took their combined expertise — Dr. Batchelor’s experience treating glioblastoma, Dr. Jain’s knowledge of drugs that attack the abnormal blood vessels feeding a tumor, and Dr. Sorensen’s ability to visualize and measure what is happening to a tumor — to show how a new smart drug can work on a completely different type of tumor. Their efforts are leading to novel therapies for brain cancer patients.
