The one hundred honoree: The Douglass Family Foundation

by
Mass General Giving

On September 11, 2001, as millions of people shared collective grief, the Douglass family was enduring great private loss. At age 47, Andrew Douglass succumbed to lung cancer, leaving his wife Rebecca (pictured left) and their children Evan, Emily and Lucas (pictured right to left).

Moved to ease the suffering of others, the Douglass family established the Andrew Douglass Memorial Lung Cancer Fund. Its grants have supported research by the Cancer Center and its Department of Thoracic Oncology for nearly a decade.

Becky and her children have also selflessly volunteered their talents and energies to advancing clinical care and research.

Becky serves on the Cancer Center Leadership Council and the one hundred committee. A poised and informed ambassador for both Stand Up to Cancer and the Cancer Center, Becky has hosted a number of events that engage even more friends and family to generate support.
