Mass General Giving

Sridhar Ramaswamy, MD, FACP, is a Tucker Gosnell Investigator at Mass General Hospital Cancer Center’s Tucker Gosnell Gastrointestinal Cancers, a faculty member of the Center for Cancer Research and an assistant professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. He received his medical degree from Boston University and trained at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

A computational biologist interested in cancer genetics, breast cancer and gastrointestinal cancers, Dr. Ramaswamy is leading the way in developing global tools to analyze complex data relating to cancer progression and development. He has pioneered studies of genes that regulate cancer metastasis as well as the genetic pathways leading to the development of breast cancer. His research has identified areas in the genome that appear to be important in several cancers. His next step will be to validate these areas as targets for further study and identify candidates for potential interventions.

Dr. Ramaswamy’s innovative work has expedited the pace and efficiency of identifying genes and pathways.
