The one hundred honoree: Shelonda Scott

by
Mass General Giving

Shelonda Scott’s co-workers consider her one of Mass General Cancer Center’s greatest assets. As a patient service coordinator, Shelonda not only schedules patients but also takes time to talk with them and helps them organize their visits — even arranging their appointments with clinicians outside her unit.

At the front desk in one of the Cancer Center’s units, Shelonda is always happy to serve each patient and does so with great kindness and congeniality, whether face-to-face or by phone.

Many patients seek out Shelonda to say hello when they arrive for appointments, regarding her as their pleasant, helpful liaison within the Cancer Center. She makes their visits go smoothly and ensures all their paperwork is in order ahead of time. She provides ready answers to their each and every question, and if she doesn’t have the information, quickly obtains it.

Shelonda is also warm, helpful and kind to her colleagues, who find her a delight.
