The one hundred honoree: Sara Frost Azzam

by
Mass General Giving

As a loving friend, daughter, parent and advocate, Sara Frost Azzam gives generously of her talents and energies to help others whose lives have been deeply touched by cancer.

While caring for an infant son at home in Wellesley, Mass., Sara tended to a very ill father and deeply frightened mother in Michigan. Sara’s father died of multiple myeloma, and her mother is a breast cancer survivor.

A middle school teacher and the mother of two children, Sara hopes to improve cancer prevention in their lifetime. Sara chairs the Wellesley Cancer Prevention Project, a nonprofit advocacy group focused on reducing environmental risk factors for cancer in her community.

Prioritizing public education, Sara tirelessly lectures and writes about cancer causes and prevention while maintaining a very full work load and family life. She also vigorously supports programs and annual fund-raising events for the Multiple Myloma Research Foundation.
