Ronald Takvorian, MD, has cared for lymphoma patients for more than 30 years, and over that time has garnered a devoted following of patients and colleagues. With a schedule that can begin at dawn and stretch into the night, he makes every effort to provide the ultimate support, care and comfort to anxious patients.

Diane Smith, RN, shares, “He is known for making phone calls after hours to reassure patients who are anxious and distressed and is always willing to see an additional patient if they are nervous about their diagnosis. I have seen Tak here late on many Friday nights seeing a new patient — despite the fact that he had other plans. His dedication is admirable.”

Dr. Takvorian takes the necessary time to educate and explain lymphoma to patients and their families, ensuring they have a clear understanding of diagnosis and treatment, and the confidence to move forward comfortably. “I love Tak!” says patient Tanya Broadbent. “There’s no one like him. He has a wonderful bedside manner and makes you feel like you’re being taken care of emotionally and medically — he makes you feel that everything is going to be okay. And most importantly, he makes you feel like you’re the most valued person in the world, despite the fact that he has a clinic full of patients.”

With decades of experience treating lymphoma, he is a leader in the department, offering guidance to the team who treats patients alongside him every day and providing expert training to oncology fellows. Says Diane, “I am one of the many staff members who have had their career enhanced by working with Dr. Tak.”
