Mass General Giving

Patricia Wrixon, owner of The Salon at 10 Newbury, is an expert in the art of women’s hair replacement, and in addition has a nonprofit, Wigs for Well-Being, which provides wigs for women undergoing medical treatment.

From their first phone call, clients feel immersed in kindness as well as professionalism. Patricia consults with each woman in a private room and recommends the right wig to help her with the transition of wearing a hair replacement while in treatment.

Patricia and the salon team combine expertise in the intricacies of hair replacement with sensitivity to the personality and preferences of each woman.

“You feel cared about, listened to and comfortable at a time when you are quite vulnerable,” says one client. “People are always complimenting me about my hair. The most memorable part of the fittings was Pat herself. Her skills at selecting and styling the right wig for her customers comes wrapped in a package of calmness, kindness and gentleness. Her smile fills the room with peace. A potentially stressful experience turned out to be one of joy.”
