The one hundred honoree: OCEAN at Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center

by
Mass General Giving

The Ovarian Cancer Education Awareness Network (OCEAN) was founded by ovarian cancer survivors and supporters, led by Bill Shea (pictured), to increase awareness, promote education and help fund research of ovarian cancer. In collaboration with the Gynecologic Oncology Research Committee, OCEAN has committed significant financial support to develop and sustain the OCEAN at Massachusetts General Hospital Comprehensive Tumor and Blood Bank for the Study of Ovarian Cancer. The goal of the bank is to collect patient tumor and blood samples along with sufficient clinical information to accelerate ovarian cancer research. The magnitude and infrastructure of the ovarian cancer research tumor bank make it an invaluable resource for all of New England.
