The one hundred honoree: Louise Slotnick

by
Mass General Giving

Through her generosity and interest, Louise Slotnick is a supportive friend and philanthropist to healthcare providers and researchers throughout the Boston area. As a trustee of the Cline Charitable Foundation and the Alvin Slotnick Charitable Foundation, Louise has personally supported numerous hospitals and research institutions.

Mass General patients and physicians have been the beneficiaries of Louise and her late husband Alvin’s generosity. In recognition of their multifaceted support, the hospital named a cancer clinical service area in their honor at the Yawkey Center.

Faulkner Hospital received donations from the Slotnicks for the Faulkner Cancer Research Fund and the Faulkner Breast Center Fund. Louise provided additional funding to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, the Wellness Community and the Lymphoma Research Foundation. And in Fall 2009, Newton-Wellesley Hospital opened the state-of-the-art Louise and Alvin Slotnick Inpatient Pavilion, equipped with 24 private rooms.
