The one hundred honoree: Elisha Daniels

by
Mass General Giving

When fashion designer Elisha Daniels was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2006, she used the experience to make positive changes in her life and in the lives of other women facing the same diagnosis. Elisha has embraced the role of advocate for breast cancer patients and their families. She serves on the National Advisory Board of the Breast Cancer Research Foundation and has co-chaired the foundation’s annual Hot Pink Party in Boston, helping to raise funds to support breast cancer research.

In 2009, Elisha co-authored a book on living with breast cancer with friend and Channel 5 news anchor Kelley Tuthill, entitled You Can Do This! Surviving Breast Cancer Without Losing Your Sanity or Your Style. The book focuses not on the pain and hardship of breast cancer, but on living life to the fullest despite it. The book offers breast cancer patients and their families a positive and uplifting message and teaches women how to maintain a healthy image and lifestyle during the most challenging time in their lives. Elisha’s support of the breast cancer community and her encouraging approach to living life to the fullest in the face of a devastating diagnosis is truly inspiring.
