Mass General Giving

Danielle Colby LeBlanc, RN, OCN, has been the infusion nurse for Tom Ferraro throughout his five years of treatment for metastatic prostate cancer at Mass General Cancer Center. “Danielle skillfully provides a range of therapies and explains each one, always taking time to listen to our concerns and to make us feel comfortable,” says his wife Christine Ferraro. “Outstanding in so many ways, Danielle has extraordinary patience, compassion, knowledge and dedication. We are most fortunate to be in her care.”

Danielle was also the infusion nurse for Jenny Malatantis, who was treated for a rare and aggressive uterine carcinosarcoma. “Although my sister and I accompanied my mother to every five-hour infusion appointment,” says Jenny’s daughter Labrini Malatantis, “it was Danielle who helped her get through those long days. My mother took to bringing her spanakopita and flowers. Danielle became my mother’s friend, a stranger my mom came to love. Danielle got our family through the darkest days of cancer.”
