Mass General Giving

Palliative care specialist and nurse practitioner Constance (Connie) Dahlin, APRN, BC, FAAN, is a founding member of the Mass General Palliative Care Service. Since 1996, she and her colleagues have been helping patients and their loved ones cope with life-changing diagnoses.

Connie brings to each patient her depth of experience as a clinician, researcher and educator. With great compassion and skill, she guides patients in recognizing and drawing upon resources that can help them manage the impact of cancer on their lives.

Glenn Hill met with Connie for a palliative care evaluation after suffering unrelenting pain for months. “She quickly and carefully mapped out a treatment plan that allowed me to function at a level that was not possible before,” writes Glenn.

“Her kind and sensitive manner greatly reduced my apprehension,” adds Glenn. “She influenced me to look at my disease in ways that would be helpful to me. She helped me be more confident and capable, and less fearful as a patient. This is the essence of medicine, and Connie has it down pat.”
