The one hundred honoree: Celine A. Mani, RN, CPON

by
Mass General Giving

For more than 20 years, Celine Mani, RN, CPON, has been the evening charge nurse on Ellison 17, Mass General’s inpatient unit for infants, toddlers and preschoolers. Her gifts as a leader and educator and her skills as a clinician inspire the nurses who work with her.

While ensuring that the unit provides high quality care to its young patients, Celine is a preceptor to the nurses. She has been distinguished as a Clinical Scholar and she co-authored the discharge teaching book that the unit’s nurses use for their patients.

With creativity and resourcefulness, Celine adapts learning opportunities to each nurse’s needs and talents, and she helps train new nurses on Ellison 17 in the administration of chemotherapy.

“Celine has a calm, confident manner with patients and their families as well as with staff,” says Kathleen Stakes, RN, MS, a pediatric oncology nurse. “She is an exemplary educator and clinician. No one has made a bigger difference in the lives of our patients.”
