In 2007, Eddie Hall (“Big Ed”) was diagnosed with esophageal cancer. Eddie cherished the support of his family and friends (pictured above) throughout his months of treatment, and he promised to help patients without the good fortune of having such loving support.
In September 2008, Eddie succumbed to cancer. Soon after, his loved ones founded BigEd.org to honor Eddie by keeping his promise.
Raising funds through events as varied as golf tournaments, a friend’s ascent of Mont Blanc, Red Sox ticket raffles and a three-mile walk/run, BigEd.org assists patients and families in meeting their living expenses during treatment.
In its first year, BigEd.org helped 65 patients and their caregivers focus on healing without the added burden of financial worries — a wonderful legacy for Eddie Hall.
