Jeremy Abramson, MD, clinical director of the Center for Lymphoma at the Mass General Cancer Center, delights in seeing patients as well as conducting clinical trials and exploring new targeted therapies for the treatment of lymphomas. His good humor puts his patients at ease while his expertise calms their fears and his kindness warms their hearts and brings comfort.

One patient recalls her first meeting with Dr. Abramson, who treated her for stage II Hodgkin’s lymphoma. “Dr. Abramson walked in with a smile and assured me that I would be fine and live a long, healthy life despite this blip on the screen. Six months and 12 chemotherapy treatments later, I am in complete remission. Throughout my treatment, he was always positive and responded quickly to my every email. His nurse practitioner was great too.”

Dr. Abramson treated another patient, Neil Sullivan, for Burkitt’s lymphoma. “He made my husband feel that he was his only patient,” writes Maryann Sullivan. “Neil just loved seeing Dr. Abramson, whose big smile cheered him up even when he was so sick. We felt as though we’d known Dr. Abramson for years. When my husband died, we held his funeral in our church in Malden. As I was going down the aisle, I looked up to see Dr. Abramson standing there. I will never forget his kindness.”
