We are indebted to Dr. Steve and Nancy Calderwood for establishing this initiative that will help support fellows in their path to independence either as clinician-educators, physician-scientists or programmatic and policy leaders. With increased challenges in graduate medical education funding (GME), there are limited ways to enhance the fellowship experience. Travel to an out-of-town conference, attending Harvard courses in epidemiology and statistics and leadership training are just some of the promising opportunities that will be funded by The Stephen B Calderwood, MD and Nancy G Calderwood Infectious Diseases Fellowship Program Endowed Catalyst Fund.
