Announcing the third annual Love for Lurie event in Boston! Please join us at the Barking Crab on April 7th at 4pm to celebrate and support Mass General’s Lurie Center for Autism.
The Lurie Center is a global leader in the fight against autism and other developmental disorders. It executes an innovative, multi-disciplinary approach to care. It employs leaders in the fields of developmental medicine, neurology, psychology, psychopharmacology, and gastroenterology, among other disciplines. Therapies provided onsite include physical, occupational, speech and language, and recreational. The Lurie Center also performs leading edge clinical research. The critical advantage of this unique model is communication amongst specialists across numerous fields, leading to optimal care for patients and potential breakthroughs in treatment. Another differentiator is the Lurie Center’s one-of-a-kind family resources group dedicated to helping families navigate the incredibly murky waters of the autism world.
Our family has benefited immensely from the Lurie Center’s experts and services. We are dedicated to supporting this institution so that other families can continue to benefit as well. And we aim to have fun while providing that support. Hence Love for Lurie 2018! Last year the dress theme was 80’s. This year it is Creative Bowtie. What does that mean? Who knows? Whatever you want it to. What it does NOT mean is formal dress, though feel free. Interpret it however you wish, and we’ll see what happens.
This year we also have three Boston Marathon runners running for the Lurie Center! Mike Freni, our friend and fellow member of the Lurie Center Leadership Council, will be running his eleventh alongside his two brothers. And our other dear friends John and Jaime Ivey will be running for the first time. We are grateful to them and to any who decide to attend the event or otherwise support the Lurie Center.
Tickets are $65 in advance, $75 at the door. That gets you beer, wine, the specialty cocktail, gear, music, opportunity for raffle and silent auction items, and a whole bunch of fun.
Thank you very much for your consideration, and we hope to see you at the event.
