The Costumes for Cancer 5k Fun Run and 2.5k Walk benefits the John Estrella Foundation for Cancer Research, which provides research grants supporting Massachusetts General Hospital in its fight against cancer.
Costumes optional. Having fun for a great cause? Mandatory.

Post-Race Trick or Treat
Through the generosity of local businesses, all race participants will enjoy a post-race “trick or treat” adventure. Grab a treasure map after you cross the finish line and follow it to highlighted businesses to enjoy your treat. Current stops include:
- Cityside Bar – choice of free Bloody Mary OR Coors Light draft
- Waterworks Museum – free tour and candy
The rest of the 2019 treat stops are to be determined. Please stay tuned!
Race around the beautiful Chestnut Hill Reservoir! 5k is a double loop. 2.5k walk single.
Prizes to be awarded for top race finishers as well as special costume categories.
Parking and Transportation
The race is on a Sunday, so you can park anywhere you can find a spot near the reservoir or in the public lots in the surrounding area. Don’t want to drive? The race is T accessible! Take the Green Line ‘C’ branch to Cleveland Circle. After exiting the MBTA, walk 200 feet east on Beacon Street. Cross Chestnut Hill Avenue at the lights. Or take the 51 bus to Cleveland Circle.
We will be hosting a bib pick-up on Saturday, October 26th. Participants can also pick up their numbers on race day.
