We all know that a cancer diagnosis affects the entire person. The entire family. The entire circle of friends. And cancer treatments take their toll physically, emotionally, and financially. That’s where Caring for a Cure comes in.
Caring for a Cure is a nurse initiated and nurse run charity that benefits the oncology patients being treated at the Cancer Center at Mass General Hospital since 2011. Money that is raised has gone to help patients with groceries, allowed nurses to throw weddings for patients, provided tickets to shows for a fun night out, hotel stays in Boston to make medical appointments easier, gas money, digital photo frames to ease family separation during a long hospital stay…the list is endless. The ideas to help a patient come from the nurses taking care of the patient. Caring for a Cure enables the nurses to do so much more than administer chemo, blood, and antibiotics. It allows the nurse to treat the patient (and their support system!) as a whole person. We truly appreciate any help you are willing to give to make sure Caring for a Cure can continue its mission.
