Massachusetts General Hospital’s Frontotemporal Disorders Unit 8th From Care to Cure event, will take place on Friday, April 5, 2019 at the Westin Waltham Boston Hotel. This event will bring together over one hundred and twenty patients, caregivers, clinicians, staff members, and community partners for a day of learning, connecting and community building.
Frontotemporal Disorders (FTD) are a group of progressive neurological disorders with no known treatment to slow or stop their progression. This cruel disease robs patients of core human characteristics, their ability to work, communicate, and live their lives fully. FTD has a terminal prognosis. The scientific community is making progress with new pathological discoveries. Here at MGH, we are at the cutting edge of those discoveries, but there is more to be done. We have worked closely to engage families in research and community partners in efforts to provide the highest quality of care.
From Care to Cure draws together attendees from across New England to learn about the latest scientific discoveries; to connect with patients, caregivers and community resources; and to engage in workshops to navigate life with FTD, atypical and young-onset Alzheimer’s Disease and related dementias.
