My name is Cassandra Kral-Dillon. My uncle, Mike Cronin, died of cancer on April 10, 2011. He was 72 years old and fought the disease until the end. He was always interested and hopeful of what the next clinical trial might bring for his cancer treatment. Unfortunately there wasn’t a cure for him, but I am hopeful someday we will have a cure for everyone. Until that day arrives I want to help fund Mass General’s trials for others who rely on them for a cure or even a few more years of life. Uncle Mike was many things in his life, husband, father, CEO, board member, humanitarian and the list goes on, but what I will remember most about him is his many worldly adventures and his love of life and family.
My good friend, Jean Hajjar, and I have been climbing for several years now. Our summits include: Shuksan (9,131), Sharkfin Tower (8,120), Sahale (8,680 ), Pollux (13,425), Breithorn, (13,661), Weismiss (13,211) and last year Mt. Rainier (14,410).
This year we will be attempting the north ridge of Mt. Baker (10,781) to raise money for the MGH Melanoma Fund. North Cascades Mountain Guides will be guiding us to the summit (weather permitting).
I’m sure we all know someone who has battled cancer in one form or another. Please help MGH in their efforts to find a cure. Thank You.
